14-Day Storytelling Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Uganda: The Pearl of Africa Welcomes You
As your plane descends into Entebbe, the view of Lake Victoria spreads out like a silver shield. You are welcomed by our smiling Otter African Safaris guide who ushers you into Uganda with warmth and excitement. Tonight, you rest, breathe, and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Day 2 Journey to Gulu: The Land of Resilience
Your journey north begins. The landscapes change from lush tropics to wide savannah plains. You pass vibrant roadside markets and villages full of smiles. By evening, you settle in Gulu, a gateway to the northern frontier.
Day 3 Into the Rugged Beauty of Kidepo Valley
The road into Kidepo Valley National Park feels like travelling back in time.
Mountains cut the horizon, and golden plains stretch endlessly forward. Entering Kidepo is like stepping into Africa as it once was raw, untouched, wild. Elephants wander freely, buffalo stare curiously, and ostriches race across the plains.
Day 4 Game Drive in the Narus Valley
At sunrise, the Narus Valley glows amber. You follow animal trails where lions sun themselves on rocks and cheetahs glide through the grass. Large herds of buffalo and zebra graze under the watch of distant mountains. This is one of Africa’s last true wildernesses.
Day 5 Kidepo Cultural Encounter with the IK or Karamojong
Today, culture takes centre stage. You journey into the highlands to meet the Ik or visit a traditional Karamojong community, discovering ancient traditions, warrior dances, and stories told around smoky homestead fires. These moments deepen your connection with the land and its people.
Day 6 Drive to Murchison Falls National Park
The adventure continues west toward the legendary Murchison Falls. On the way, landscapes shift dramatically from dry Karamoja to rolling green hills. By evening, you enter Uganda’s largest national park, home of the thunderous Nile.
Day 7 Dawn Game Drive & Afternoon Nile Boat Cruise
Your morning game drive reveals giraffes sweeping across the plains, lions stalking silently, and elephants drifting like giants through the savannah. In the afternoon, the boat cruise takes you along the Nile hippos grunting, crocodiles sunbathing, and birds filling the sky. The journey ends at the base of Murchison Falls, the most powerful waterfall in the world.
Day 8 Top of the Falls & Transfer to Hoima
Today, you stand above the falls, feeling the ground tremble beneath your feet. The Nile crashes through a narrow gap with breathtaking force. You then travel south to Hoima, a perfect rest stop after days of exploration.
Day 9 From Hoima to Queen Elizabeth National Park
The drive takes you through tea plantations, crater lakes, and countless scenic surprises.
By evening, you enter Queen Elizabeth National Park, a land of lions, elephants, and volcanic plains.
Day 10 Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Cruise
The morning reveals countless animals: kob, elephants, lions, and hyenas, moving across the Kasenyi plains. In the afternoon, the boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel becomes a living wildlife documentary. Hundreds of hippos line the banks. Birds swirl overhead. Buffalo cool off in muddy waters. It is a paradise for photographers.
Day 11 The Ishasha Wilderness: Land of the Tree-Climbing Lions
Today, you head south to Ishasha, famous for its iconic tree-climbing lions lounging in massive fig trees. The region is remote, quiet, and deeply wild.
Day 12 Game Drive in Ishasha & Relaxed Afternoon
Another morning in this lion kingdom gives you a second chance at rare sightings.
The afternoon is yours to relax at the lodge, listen to the rustle of fig trees, and enjoy the tranquillity of Ishasha’s untouched beauty.
Day 13 Return to Entebbe
Your final full day takes you back toward Entebbe, retracing your path through rolling hills and bustling towns. You arrive in time to enjoy your last Ugandan sunset, a golden farewell.
Day 14 Departure Day
Your heart is full. Your camera is overflowing. Your spirit is recharged. You leave with unforgettable memories and a story that will stay with you forever. Otter African Safaris escorts you to the airport with gratitude and warm goodbyes until your next adventure.
