12 DAYS UGANDA WILDLIFE, PRIMATES AND WHITE WATER RAFTING SAFARI.

Overview:

This 12 Days Uganda Wildlife, Primates and White water Rafting Safari will take our
visitors to a safari experience at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking, MURCHISON
Falls National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lake Mburo national park for game
drives and boat cruises where you will sight different mammal and bird species. The safari
will also take you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla tracking, Kibale national
park for chimpanzee tracking and Lake BUNYONYI for the beautiful scenic views and
canoeing. It will also take you for a swamp walk in Bigodi wetlands where you will
encounter many bird species. You will also go to Jinja for white-water rafting and a visit to
the source of River Nile.

After your early morning breakfast, you will be picked by an Otter African Safairis guide and start your 4 to 5 hours journey to Murchison Falls National Park in Masindi in Western Uganda. You will have a first stop over at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola where you will have an hour on-foot rhino tracking experience. After the rhino tracking experience you will proceed to Masindi for lunch before proceeding to visit the top of Murchison Falls the powerful falls where the Nile squeezes through an 8m wide gorge and plunges with a thunderous roar into the Devil’s Cauldron creating a trademark rainbow. From the falls you will continue in the park and you will have a short evening game drive and later check in at the lodge. Overnight stay and Dinner at the lodge.
Have your breakfast very early in the morning, depart for an early morning game drive as early as 6am and head into the park and look out for view the different mammals such as elephants, lions, leopards, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes and antelopes like Uganda kob, topi, eland, bushbucks. You will have time to relax for lunch. After lunch you will join the boat cruise to take you to the bottom of Murchison falls as you spot aquatic wildlife such as hippos, Nile crocodiles, and water birds. On return Catch up with sunset view before dinner and overnight at the lodge.
After your morning breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and start your journey to Kibale National Park in Fort Portal in Western Uganda through the tea plantations and rolling hills to reach Fort portal town. While in Fort portal you will have an en-route lunch and continue your journey to Kibale National Park. After checking into the lodge, you will embark on a guided nature walk in the Bigodi wetlands and you have a chance to spot 138 bird species.
You will wake up early in the morning for breakfast and then report at the park headquarters at Kanyanchu at 7:30am for briefing by the guides about the dos and don’ts while with the chimpanzees. You will then embark on a trek for the search of the chimpanzees and once you have spotted a group, you will spend one hour with them observing their different behaviours and you will also spot other primates in the forest. After the chimpanzee tracking experience you will be awarded a chimpanzee tracking certificate and after you will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will check out of the lodge and start the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Have your breakfast very early in the morning, depart for an early morning game drive as early as 6am to the rolling plains of Uganda’s second largest National Park and look out for: lions, leopards, Elephants, buffaloes, hippos, waterbucks, warthogs, leopards, Uganda Kobs, Hyenas, and Hippos. For any birder, there are quite a number of birds to sight too during the drive. Return to the lodge for some rest time and lunch. After lunch at the lodge, you will go for a 2-hour boat cruise trip on the Kazinga Channel which connects Lakes George and Edward and you will surely be fascinated by the concentrations of giant hippos, buffaloes, elephants and crocodiles among others . You will also see many varieties of birds at the water shores. You will have dinner and overnight at the lodge .
After your early morning breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park and you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Ishasha sector. You will have a game drive in the Ishasha sector and you will have a chance to see the tree climbing lions that are seen resting in the fig trees. After that you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and you will have lunch along the way.
You will wake up early in the morning for breakfast and then report at the park headquarters at 7:30am for a briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. Remember to carry your packed lunch and enough drinking water since you may stay in the forest up to afternoon in search of these gentle giants in their natural environment. Gorilla tracking exercise is physically demanding but an exciting activity! You may need to hire a porter to assist you during tracking and these are readily available at the park headquarters. Time allowed to spend with gorillas is 1 hour when you have found them and this is enough to ask all the questions about their behaviour. Return to the lodge after tracking and freshen up. In the evening, Batwa pygmies will be invited to entertain you with their dances, storytelling after you have dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
After the morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on a journey to Lake BUNYONYI, a beautiful lake that is about 900 metres deep and is made up of 29 islands. After having lunch you will check in your room with a view of the lake. You will go for an evening sunset boat cruise exploring some of the 29 islands including the punishment island. You will return for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast depart from the lodge at Lake Bunyonyi and head to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest Savannah National park in Uganda. You will reach the park in the afternoon for lunch, and then relax as you prepare for an evening game drive in the park. You will then have an evening game drive where you will encounter wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, Waterbucks among others.
After your morning breakfast, the game rangers will take you for a guided walk to the salty rocks at Rwonyo where animals are found licking salt. After that you will have a morning game drive as you exit the park and set off to Jinja. Along the way you will have a stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for memorable photos and the famous water experiment that shows that earth is separated into the Northern and Southern Hemisphere and you will have a chance to enjoy both the hemispheres. You will have an en-route lunch and you will continue your journey to Jinja.
After your breakfast, you will head out for white water rafting on the Nile River. It’s a 4 hour activity and this activity will be recorded and you will take a film of the experience as a remembrance. After water rafting you will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will visit the Source of River Nile and you will have a boat cruise on the Nile. After you will return to the lodge for relaxation as you wait for dinner.
After your morning breakfast, you will check out of your hotel in Jinja and you will transfer to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home. Meal Plan; Breakfast and Lunch. END OF THE TRIP.
