Where Two Worlds Meet The East African Plains & The Pearl of Africa’s Wild Highlands
Some journeys are holidays. Others change you.
The 12-Day Kenya & Uganda Wildlife Circuit is crafted for the traveller who wants more than sightings, someone who seeks connection. The whispering savannas of Kenya, the emerald forests of Uganda, the thunder of hooves on open plains, the silent stare of a mountain gorilla. This expedition is designed to immerse you in East Africa’s most iconic wildlife realms.
Let’s step into the story.
DAY-BY-DAY STORYTELLING ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi The City of Cool Breezes & Warm Hearts
Your journey begins as Nairobi’s soft evening air wraps around you. After a warm Otter African Safaris welcome, you settle into your boutique hotel, a calm sanctuary surrounded by gardens and African art. Tonight, your guide introduces the adventure ahead over a hearty Kenyan dinner.
Day 2: Nairobi National Park – Lions Against a City Skyline
As dawn rises, you enter Nairobi National Park, where giraffes wander against the surreal backdrop of distant skyscrapers. You may spot lions on morning patrol, rhinos grazing in golden light, and wide-winged secretary birds stalking their prey. The day ends with a visit to the Giraffe Centre or the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (optional).
Day 3: Fly to Amboseli The Kingdom Beneath Kilimanjaro
A short flight lands you in the dramatic shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Elephants, big, wise, ancient, move slowly across the plains, dust rising behind them like stories of old. An evening game drive reveals Amboseli’s timeless wildlife patterns as the sky turns orange.
Day 4: Amboseli Full-Day Safari The Giants of the Plains
Today is dedicated to exploring Amboseli fully. You observe tuskers, graceful zebras, massive buffalo herds, and endless birdlife. Your guide interprets behaviour, tracks movement, and shares conservation stories of the region’s most iconic giants.
Day 5: Fly to the Masai Mara The Land of Endless Drama
Arrive in the Masai Mara, a landscape that feels alive, a theatre of life, survival, and raw beauty. An afternoon game drive introduces you to the Mara’s lions, cheetahs, elephants, and (seasonally) great herds of migrating wildebeest. A fireside dinner welcomes you to Africa’s most legendary safari wilderness.
Day 6: Masai Mara Predators, Plains, and the Golden Hour
Spend the morning tracking predator activity lions on the hunt, cheetahs scanning open plains, hyenas calling in the wind. Lunch is served on the savanna with sweeping views.
Optional activities:
Hot Air Balloon Safari
Maasai Cultural Visit
The day ends with sundowners in a glowing African sunset.
Day 7: Masai Mara to Entebbe Crossing into the Pearl of Africa
You enjoy a final morning drive before your flight to Entebbe, Uganda.
Uganda welcomes you with lush greenery and warm hospitality. Settle by Lake Victoria as fishermen paddle into the dusk, a gentle introduction to the next chapter of your circuit.
Day 8: Entebbe Bwindi Into the Mountain Kingdom
Today you fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a place that feels untouched by time.
Your lodge sits at the edge of the ancient forest, where mist hangs in the treetops and gorillas live quietly in emerald thickets. Your guide prepares you for tomorrow’s gorilla trek, a life-changing encounter.
Day 9: Gorilla Trekking A Moment You Will Never Forget
The forest welcomes you with birdsong and earthy scent. Your ranger leads the way through vines and moss-covered paths until. You see them. A gorilla family.
Silverback watching, juveniles tumbling, mothers grooming, utterly peaceful. You spend one full hour with them, witnessing wildness in its purest form. This is not a sighting; it’s a connection. Evening at the lodge brings storytelling around a warm fire.
Day 10: Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Where Forest Meets Savanna
A scenic drive takes you through terraced hills and crater lakes toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arrive for an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, the world’s most concentrated hippo sanctuary. Elephants, buffalo, crocodiles, and hundreds of birds gather along the water’s edge.
Day 11: Queen Elizabeth Safari & Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions
Begin the day with a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains. After lunch, journey toward Ishasha, home to Uganda’s famous tree-climbing lions. Seeing lions lounging lazily in fig trees is a surreal, unforgettable sight. Your last night is spent in a wilderness lodge surrounded by quiet savanna.
Day 12: Return to Entebbe, Farewell to the Wild
Your safari wraps up with a scenic drive back to Entebbe or a flight (optional).
As you head home, East Africa stays with you in the wind, the wildlife, and the stories you carry.
